The rehabilitation of the M-06 Motorway linking Kiev with Hungary and Slovakia in the west is one of Ukraine's most important highways. The project was the first in the country to be undertaken with a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and one of the first projects to be administered under the FIDIC (international Federation of Consulting Engineers) Conditions of Contract.
High-Point Rendel was awarded a contract for project management, engineering design and construction supervision of 210km of the M-06 highway. The scope included rehabilitation of the single carriageway road pavement, 10 new climbing lanes, repair of more than 50 bridges, construction of new retaining walls, renovation of existing retaining walls, slope stabilisation, drainage improvement, safety improvements, new signing and barriers, junction improvements and widening on bends.
